All weddings are emotional. All weddings are sweet. When you lay it all aside, the dress, the shoes, the flowers, cake, the vows and yes, even the guests, what is left is plain and simple, pure love. And if ever there is a day for pure love, your wedding day is one of them.
I saw pure love at our last wedding. As a photographer, I try to keep my composure and just let little tears fall behind my camera during the emotional moments of the day. But a few weeks ago, I had alligator tears, and even little sobs. Jennifer and JR were so so sweet on their wedding day.
We met Jennifer (and her sister) a few months ago to chat over a cup of coffee and some muffins. The two of them were just absolute dolls and I couldn't wait until Jennifer's wedding day. If anyone is genuine, Jennifer is (and her sister, too, for that matter!). She is just a doll.
We worked out all the scheduling and location details, including a last minute reception location change. Her wedding day came, and we hopped over to the reception location to see what we were working with. There were some lovely ladies and gents there setting up the venue. We introduced ourselves and got to work photographing some of the details before the day began when a man walked up to us to see if there was anything we needed. We explained we were just great and about to head to the church for getting ready photos. Then he introduced himself as JR, the groom! He was nothing like we expected, but so tender and loving. He asked if there was anything he could do for us and we quickly responded that it was HIS day and was there anything we could do for him! He practically interrupted to tell us, "No. This is HER day!" That's when I knew that Jennifer and JR were going to have an amazing day and life together!

Her sister, Joanna, laced up her dress and helped with the bridesmaids' dresses.
Still lacing up the dress. :) It was a great time of girl talk.
We snuck this photograph of JR after explaining to us that it was "HER day." Something tells me he is going to make Jennifer really happy.
Trekking our way up the teeeeny tiny stairs for pre-ceremony photos with the girls.
Jennifer's mom walked her down the aisle. She had such a long gorgeous train with a faint blush of pink. Just beautiful.
Jennifer's dad passed away a few years earlier and this baby grand piano was put into the church in memory of her father. It was a beautiful piano. Completely spotless and so smooth and swoopy.
Don't you love this candelabra?
I know this photo is soft and blurry, but I just looove her smile. She is so adorable.
I crouched down and snuck this photo during receiving time after the ceremony. Then got stepped on. It was totally worth it.
They were receiving guests and shared a quiet moment to themselves amidst the craziness and tons of people.
She didn't know I snuck this one. I think it's very telling.
Surprise toast #1.
Surprise toast #2.
Time for one more mini sobfest.
Cake time was really entertaining. This was just the beginning. I am pretty sure JR had icing on his head at the end of the night.
JR totally strutting his stuff through the line dancing.
As I mentioned earlier. When the dress is put away, the chairs are stacked and the guests are all gone home, you've still got love.

The one of just the couple on the dance floor with the empty room brought me to tears! What a special moment of love.
